Anadolu Kültür (AK), founded in 2002, aims to share and diffuse cultural programs across Anatolia in partnership with local NGOs, municipalities and universities in order to contribute to the establishment and extension of civic initiatives in Anatolian cities.
The mission of AK is to help create a more transparent, open-minded, constructively critical society; to develop a culture of dialogue across borders and boundaries; to facilitate mutual understanding and to enhance the chances of a tolerant civil society.
Perceiving arts and culture as an integral part of community development strategies and improvement of dialogue and democracy, Anadolu Kültür actively works to disseminate to Anatolian cities cultural programs which, like economic resources, are concentrated in the west of the country. Established in 2002 by AK as its local branch in Diyarbakır, Diyarbakır Arts Center (DSM) shares the same mission, organising creative and socially engaged arts and cultural activities in Diyarbakır and the region with a local and international outreach.
